JOB TITLE: General Manager CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Logistics, Director of Operations and/or the President
BASIC FUNCTION:
The General Manager ensures that their assigned facility is clean, efficient, productive, and meets or exceeds budgetary guidelines and provides excellent customer services. The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse, including safety, operations, customer service, office operations, and computer systems. The General Manager plans, organizes, staffs, directs, and controls all office and warehouse activities. In addition, the General Manager selects, develops, and motivates all employees and is accountable for achieving company objectives regarding cost, productivity, customer service and profits.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and safely lift, turn, position and transfer product accordingly
- Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Must have a satisfactory background check
- Must comply with OSHA, FDA, Department of Agriculture and SDS Standards where applicable
- Must have the flexibility to work any shift required by customer and business needs
- Ability to be on-call as needed
- 2-3 years customer service experience, required
- 5-7 years warehouse experience, preferred
- 2-3 years supervisory experience, preferred
- Must possess the appropriate computer experience (i.e. Microsoft Office)
- Ability to multitask and work in an organized manner
- Ensures all operating procedures are efficient, timely, productive, accurate, documented and communicated to all associates
- Evaluates space utilization for cost effectiveness
- Supervises the relocating of product as requires and ensures proper documentation of changes is submitted
- Operates in compliance with federal, state, and local statutes
- Directs associates to achieve prescribed company objectives
- Develops and maintains a productive team by creating programs for recruiting, training, and professional development
- Uses sound communication and motivational techniques, creates programs to supervise, counsel, and coach staff
- Conducts annual performance reviews in conjunction with recommendations for wage increases, promotions, or corrective action
- Ensures adequate staffing in conjunction with budgetary guidelines
- Ensures all required safety and informational training is completed and documented
- Assists in the development of an annual operating budget
- Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters
- Processes all accounts payables for the facility in an accurate and timely manner
- Ensures that customer service standards are met with regards to shipping, receiving, and inventory control
- Each customers’ procedures and requirements should be documented and communicated to all necessary associates
- Maintains appropriate contact with all accounts and responds to requests when required
- Continually maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers to ensure that all personnel do the same
- Adhere to company standards and policies related to customer service
- Reviews material handling equipment for suitability for operations
- Makes recommendations for equipment and facility replacement, repairs, etc.
- Develops and implements suitable programs for maintaining NCL standards for sanitation, equipment, and building maintenance, security and safety
- Ensures fire protection procedures are in place and that all personnel have been trained
- Ensure all systems and equipment are tested and serviced on a regular basis
- Make a daily plan for allocating equipment to jobs
- Ensure that equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner
- Coordinate with management to ensure equipment is properly maintained
- Directly supervises all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are handled in accordance with company procedures
- Ensure that all work for the day is completed properly
- Ensures all reports, forms, and documentation is prepared in a timely manner and maintained in accordance with company procedures
- Supervises the checking of outgoing and incoming freight for proper inventory controls
- Ensures proper stock rotation and assists in conducting physical inventories
- Monitors housekeeping, security, and sanitation daily
- Reviews and monitors procedures to ensure that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is avoided
- Ensures that all safety procedures and policies related to handling and storage of materials and operation of equipment are follows
- Responds to security and fire alarms as directed
- Familiar with and enforces company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
